Google Cloud now turns to the Solana Validator in order to bring its Blockchain Node Engine to the Solana ecosystem, boosting the network with newly added features.
Google Cloud announces that it will run a validator on the Solana blockchain with newly added features. The newly added features will welcome Solana developers and node runners into the ecosystem.
Google Cloud also plans to bring its Blockchain Node Engine to the Solana Chain in 2023. Currently, the blockchain node engine supports the Ethereum blockchain.
Solana blockchain validator
Google Web3 Product Manager, Nalin Mittal, made the announcement at Solana’s Breakpoint Conference in Lisbon. Mittal claims that Google Cloud will make it one click to run a Solana Chain in a cost-effective manner.
Google Cloud is running a block-producing Solana validator to participate in and validate the network. The firm also announced its plans on indexing Solana data and adding it to BigQuery Data warehouse.
The move will make it easier for Solana Developers to access historical data. The feature will launch in the first quarter of 2023.
Google Cloud also intends to bring its credits program to select startups in the Solana ecosystem. The program will feature up to $100,000 in Cloud credits available for applicants.
Solana Founder, Anatoly Yakovenko hailed the move by Google Cloud during the conference. Yakovenko cited building better SDKs to help speed up the development of applications.
The advancement in tech will also address the unsolved problem of storing seed phrases.
More research continues on effective methods of storing secrets in a way that Google does not even know the secrets. The research also points to partial recovery of the keys between the user and the service provider.
The service provider such as Google will now verify your identity as a user.
Role of Google Cloud
Google Cloud will ensure that the infrastructure is ready and available. The firm will create a developer team that will monitor the system and remediates problems during an outage.
The Blockchain Node Engine is a fully managed service hence users need not worry about its availability. Google Cloud actively monitors the nodes and restarts them during outages as needed.
Google Cloud confirmed that BigQuery will roll out support for Solana. BigQuery represents Google Cloud-based data analytics web service. The web service processes very large read-only data sets.

Surprisingly, Ethereum will be the first blockchain to be supported by the Blockchain Node Engine.
Google Cloud and Web3
The adoption of Cloud-based services continues to skyrocket. Cloud-based services act as a substrate for the development of a blockchain entity growing exponentially.
Apparently, most exchanges and protocols still prefer services from a centralized offering. Cloud-based services from a centralized offering are more stable, secure and functional at this time.
Google Cloud continues its journey in the web3 tech space through partnerships in the blockchain industry.
Previously, Google turned to the validator for the NEAR protocol, Hedera and Dapper Labs. The partnership also involved players such as Coinbase, TRM and Nansen.
Web3 companies prefer Google Cloud since it is faster and easier to use. The Google Cloud service also reduces the need for infrastructure maintenance, custom tooling and operations.
