Cryptofelon, an American developer, accuses Binance CEO, Changpeng Zhao, of harassing him.

The developer, who is also a domain holder claims that CZ threatens and harasses him into surrendering his domain.

“Binance’s CZ, arguably the largest proponent of decentralization, has resorted to centralized means in order to steal a domain from me,” he tweeted.

Binance to purchase domain

Cryptofelon claims Binance’s executive, Min Lin, reached out to him on November 16th, 2021, and sent him a friend request on LinkedIn. After Cryptofelon accepted the friend request, Min Lin messaged him regarding acquiring the domain.

The domain owner agreed he would be open to handing over the domain for 420 ETH. An offer that discouraged the executive, as Binance offered Cryptofelon 1.4ETH ($6500). A few days later Binance issued Cryptofelon with a “Cease-and-Desist letter that accused him of several claims.

In the letter, Binance accuses Cryptofelon of violating their trademark. However, Cryptofelon claims his domain, which he registered in October 2017, has never used the Binance trademark at all.

The letter shows that Binance also claims Cryptofelon offered them his domain for sale and demanded an outrageous sum.

However, Cryptofelon denies putting his domain on sale despite several parties approaching him regarding the same.

Binance sues Cryptofelon

Later on, on 17th June 2022, Binance served Cryptofelon. The lawsuit included several threats and copies of the registration of the Binance trademark.

In the lawsuit, Binance also accuses Cryptofelon of using his site for unjust swindling of money.

Cryptofelon goes ahead to claim the lawsuit was served through a Canadian Court which he cannot appear as he is an American felon.

He claims despite CZ’s awareness of this, he still serves him through the Canadian court creating a leeway for him to lose the fight since he cannot defend himself.

Cryptofelon also claims since 5th July 2022, his domain has been locked. He says he cannot make any updates or transfers on the domain.

As Cryptofelon continues to work on getting his domain unlocked and maintaining the ownership, Binance is yet to react to the claims.
