The Crypto House is still under listing, lacking any buyers since the beginning of November 2022. What are the speculations concerning the situation?
The trendy ‘Crypto House’ based in North Hollywood is having a hard time selling, despite its unique interior. The house, listed by Douglas Elliman of California, Inc., has been on the market for a while, raising questions about whether it will ever sell. The Crypto House sold in 2016 at $520 000, but its value kept increasing over the years.
The house has four bedrooms and three bathrooms, with other amenities like a pool, cooling features, a range of appliances, and more. Its original listing on Zillow on October 1, 2022, was at $1.2 million. Considering its luxurious location and other local amenities, the listing ranks as a hot sale. However, as the house doesn’t seem to have any buyers, the price tag went down to $949 000 as of January 5.
The home features various crypto projects, including Ethereum, Bored Ape NFTs, and Mutant Ape NFTs, to mention but a few. It is currently listed as an Airbnb on major travel websites, including Booking.com and Airbnb.com. Still, the space is not for everyone, especially people unacquainted with crypto, giving it vacancies most of the time.
Wallpapers the Crypto House displays
While Zillow makes the house look fabulous on the outside, there are parts it has left out about the interior, which might be necessary for potential owners. The first thing is the kitchen’s neon sign for ‘Crypto House.’ While crypto enthusiasts might wish to have something like that in their space, it is not for everyone, as multiple news outlets put it.
Every room has an array of wallpapers from several projects, with the most interesting part being a room filled with tweets. Others include one for Bitcoin, one for Ethereum, one for DOGE, and lots of NFT collections, such as CryptoPunk featured in the living and dining rooms. The purple fireplace has also been a point of reference and its clashes with the CryptoPunk NFT wallpaper.
Conflict of interest?
There may e a conflict of interest as far as the house is concerned, within and outside the crypto space. One speculation would be that no one has any interest in living in a space crawling with crypto-related features. That issue may arise mostly from the lack of clarification by real estate agents to the actual nature of the house.
Furthermore, considering the continuous tumultuous season in the crypto markets, many lack faith in the industry; likewise, leading to a lack of interest in the house. All in all, it might boil down to the listing price of the house, which is seemingly too high.
