Decentraland plans to host its second Metaverse Music Festival by incorporating new technology and a wide range of artists such as Soulja Boy and Ozzy to perform at the event.
Soulja Boy, Ozzy Osbourne and Dylan Francis will join other artists at the Decentraland’s second Metaverse music festival. The music festival will occur between 10-13th November.
Over 100 artists from all across the globe will take part in the event. Some of the key artists include Chinese Idol group SNH48, CryptoPunk rapper Spottie WiFi and Attarashi Gakko.
The metaverse music festival
Decentraland claims that it will double down on music in the metaverse this year. Besides other new experiences, the platform will also showcase some of its latest technologies.
New motion capture technology will feature in the event. The technology will feature on the global stage through the Move.ai platform. The Move.ai platform enables motion capture with no suits.
Kinetix.tech also features on the global stage and will influence the NFT sector. The two technologies aim to empower creators to make emote NFTs using only one phone camera.
A debut delight
The debut event of the festival in 2021 claimed over 50,000 unique attendees. The festival spun a consecutive four-day run.
The producer of the Metaverse Music festival claimed that the event bridged the tech gap between web2 and web3. Iara Dias believes the festival will bridge web2 and web3 worlds. The aim of bridging will mutually benefit both artists and fans.
One such opportunity will occur in the form of a token-gated experience. However, Dias claims that the festival will not replace a real-world experience. He reiterated that the festival will give people an opportunity to enjoy the art of music.
Last year, over 80 artists showed up to perform on the festival’s debut. The festival also hosted a New Year’s Eve Party in December.
In March, the Decentraland Metaverse hosted the Metaverse Fashion week.
Active users battle in Decentraland
Earlier this month, DappRadar revealed the metaverse’s active users in a 24-hour period time frame. The Decentraland metaverse played host to 38 active users in a 24-hour period. The firm based its data on the interactions linked to its smart contracts.
However, Decentraland strongly denied the purported figures. The Decentraland metaverse claimed a user base activity of just under 56,000 monthly active users. The new figures accounted for the number of active users for the month of September.
The numbers translated to 1,890 active users in a 24-hour period.
Meanwhile, DappRadar agreed to update its active users’ determining strategy. Apparently, the results from DappRadar do not match Decentraland’s claims. The numbers cap at a reported 657 users in a 24-hour period.
Interestingly, blockchain-powered events are yet to beat non-blockchain metaverse events in terms of users. Ariana Grande’s virtual concert in August last year garnered more than 33 million views.
The concert on Fortnite attracted over 78 million players.
