The famous nonfungible tokens marketplace, OpenSea, now supports the Avalanche blockchain allowing users to display, list and trade their NFTs on the marketplace by setting up creator fees.
OpenSea launches its native support for the Avalanche blockchain on its peer-to-peer NFT marketplace. Content creators on Avalanche will now display, list and trade their NFTs on the OpenSea marketplace.
Avalanche creators will also gain the opportunity to set up their own creator fees on OpenSea. Users will benefit from the fastest time to finality for NFT trade.
The Avalanche Blockchain
The top Avalanche native NFT collections based on trading volumes on OpenSea include Smol Joes and Chikn. Others include Rich Peon Poor Peon, Smol Turds and Smol Creeps.
The trading of Avalanche native NFTs commences on October 12. After the announcement, the sales volume of NFTs on Avalanche grew by 175%.
The business development lead at Ava Labs stressed Avalanche’s NFT capabilities. Avalanche’s NFT community possesses a unique identity and passion. The community showcases passion in both art and the application of NFTs.
All Avalanche-based NFT collections will now feature on OpenSea. The NFT collection will roll out over time. Additionally, Avalanche continues to work with a handful of web2 enterprises such as businesses and brands. The team also works with sports teams. OpenSea’s Support Structure
OpenSea will operate on the blockchain alongside existing platforms like NFT trade and other Avalanche marketplaces. Some of the Avalanche-based NFT marketplaces include Kalao and Joepegs.
With Avalanche, OpenSea will now settle NFT-based transactions. The OpenSea marketplace will handle transactions in under a second with low transaction fees.
John Wu, the President of Ava Labs claimed that Avalanche sets to have a vibrant creator NFT community. Wu claims that Ava labs wanted OpenSea as a choice. Avalanche listened to its community and followed suit.
Ava labs wanted to know if there exists a chain that is scalable. Ava labs want a chain that can handle massive amounts of activity from users. Wu claims that these brands remain comfortable working with OpenSea.
How OpenSea Fairs so far
To date, over $20 billion in volume traded across 80 million NFTs on the OpenSea marketplace. In January, OpenSea hit a $13.3 billion valuation after exploding in popularity.
With about $404.6 million in sales, Avalanche ranks as the seventh largest blockchain. The ranking depends on the volumes of NFTs traded in the marketplace.
Apparently, the NFT marketplace slowed down in recent months. In the last 30 days, Avalanche’s NFT sales volume rose by 38.5%. The sales volume rose to $2.1 million.
