  • DRESSX  joins Blaneciaga, Thome Browne and Prada on the marketplace

Meta users can now buy and wear the DRESSX fashion collections on avatars across the Meta platforms.

Meta, also formerly known as Facebook, partners with DRESSX,  a digital fashion brand. The partnership resulted in a new digital fashion collection on Meta’s Avatar store.

The two dropped their first DRESSX/Meta collection on the 19th of July 2022. More collections from the partnership are expected to launch regularly.

Meta embraces digital luxury partnerships

Meta launched its avatar store in June 2022.  The alliance with the digital fashion retailer comes as the first, since its avatar store launching. DRESSX also greatly benefits from the partnership as it is the first digital company to give Meta an avatar fashion marketplace.

“Being one of the first builders of the digital fashion industry and having a vast experience creating digital wardrobes for the metaverse, DressX is proud to join forces with Meta and allow people all around the globe to express their personality using a new disruptive set of tools,” said Daria Shapovalova and Natalia Modenove, co-founders of DressX.

As of now, the Meta Avatar Store is only available in a few regions such as the U.S, Thailand, Mexico and Canada.

The social media marketplace will entail some of DRESSX’s collections. The Collections will cost approximately between $2.99 to $8.99.

There are more luxury brands available in the store including the Balenciaga, Thome Browne and Prada luxury brands.

These brands created digital collections for purchase on users’ wardrobes across Meta platforms including Instagram, Facebook, Messenger and VR headset Quest.

DRESSX joins the metaverse fashion industry

The Los Angeles digital start-up, DRESSX was launched back in 2020. The startup seeks to provide digital-only collections from brands and 3D designers.

Some time ago, the DRESSX startup secured funding totaling $3.3M according to its CrunchBase profile.

The fashion startup stands as the first digital brand to launch a collection on the ROBLOX online gaming platform. The collection included digital fashion garments.

The ROBLOX Layered Clothing Technology was used to make the garments, giving them a realistic look.

The company also featured its couture on the L’OFFICIEL Metaverse Issue cover.  “Fashion has always been cyclical, but technology is opening new doors for how we dress,” says the creators of the DRESSX platform.

Just recently DRESSX teamed up with Jason Wu and together they created a digital version of the inaugural ball gown worn by Michelle Obama in 2009.

The fashion and the luxury industries strive to adopt new technology to enhance their presence in the metaverse.

This drive has been up, especially after analyst Morgan Stanley predicted that the virtual world will evolve into a $50 billion market for luxury brands.
