A deep dive into Metaverse Gaming
At the onset of this month, major initiatives and frameworks were set by the Global ESports Federation to shape the tangible Metaverse Web3-based development projects for the ESports community.
The organization was comprised of NFT developers, Blockchain experts, and key social media influencers. The objective of the Federation is to encourage ideas and shape the gaming platform in the Metaverse ecosystem and hence create opportunities for an entirely connected global community.
The Metaverse Tech Space Represents Great Potential
According to the CEO of Flare Network, who is also the head of the Council, Hugo Philion stated that ESports joining the Metaverse tech space represents great potential and multiple opportunities for investment in Blockchain applications.
The much-hyped platform is a space that was designed for meetings, games, and social interactions. The people in the Metaverse are represented by tech caricatures called avatars which are usually cartoon-like 3D animated objects that roam the virtual space.
The idea of Metaverse gaming was coined decades ago by Orson Scott and Neal Stephenson. The duo dreamt of computer-generated virtual spaces where characters spent most of their days. The first Metaverse gaming phase was represented by the likes of Roblox, Minecraft, and Second Life. Other games that have picked up the pace are Fortnite and Echo VR.
Metaverse has become a place for people to connect, get entertainment, earn and make friends. It is the Facebook incarnate coupled with multidisciplinary aspects of game technology and financial prowess inside one bubble of virtual reality.
How much for the Winner?
According to Ooredoo Nation, the ESports platform, Gamers’ Land was given the green light to organize the competition with the winner set to win $ 25,000. The first runners up will earn $ 15000 and the second runners up and the fourth-best candidate in the ranks will cash in $ 5000 each.
Ooredoo venturing into the Web3 tech space symbolizes a new dawn for the company as highlighted by the Chief Commercial Officer, Nasser bin Hamad bin Nasser Al Thani. In the Metaverse ecosystem, viewers will be treated to multiple opportunities for networking throughout the entire tournament.
Non Fungible Tokens (NFTs) will be offered to viewers as well as opportunities to meet key influencers and the FIFA 22 players. The NFTs can also be used to redeem merchandise or can be held as investments for future transactions.
The EA Sports FIFA 22 Champions Cup will be aired through the competition’s website or a live stream on YouTube.
This comes after the likes of OliveX aimed to create a fitness game ecosystem that integrates the Sandbox metaverse from Animoca Brands. Brands such as Toyota and Nissan also announced their entry into metaverse on April 22, 2022
